PET PHOTO TIPS

LIGHTING
The best possible lighting is achieved outside in natural light.
Having your pet close to a large window  with plenty of indirect light is a second best choice.
Avoid high noon and direct sunlight.  A bright but overcast day is perfect.
If possible, don’t use a flash, as it can distort  the true coloring and  shading of your pet’s coat.
The only excepting to this rule is if your pet is black. If this is the case, then a flash or direct sunlight can actually help,
POSITIONING
Photograph your pet on it’s own level.  Instead of having them come to you, go to them where they are relaxed.
Take plenty of pictures of their face and fill the frame. Take front, 3/4, and profile shots.  If your pet will not sit still for this, then have a friend hold him still.  It will not matter if there are hands in the picture.
PERSONALITY
Keep your pet at ease.  Have a friend distract with toys or treats if necessary.  If you have a picture at home that truly captures your pet’s personality, please send it along with a note.

Remember to have fun and be patient.
